Preparations are ongoing for a ceremonial game in respect of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, due for Saturday.

Stephen Appiah, Ex Ghana captain and El Hadji Diouf, 38 an ex-Liverpool forward are among African stars expected in Lagos today for the match.

Waidi Akanni, who is the Coordinator of The Match, said other African legends expected are ex-Ivory Coast midfielder Didier Zokora.

Retired Senegalese midfielder, Diomansy Kamara, retired Congolese left-back Herita Illunga.

Others are Kader Kaita alongside  Ivoirians Tienne Siaka.

Akanni said he was full of joy when Khalilou Fadiga a Belgium based Senegal World Cup star arrived Lagos on yesterday ahead of the game.

“the excitement is mounting as the ex African stars arrives Lagos”.

“They are here to honour Akinwunmi Ambode our Governor for his amazing achievements in sports development in the state,” He further stated.

Liberia President, George Weah, who is also a Former World Footballer of the Year is listed among other retired top African legends.
