Helicopter Blade Cuts Off Pilot’s Head In Borno

Air force officers battling against insurgency were thrown into mourning yesterday when the rotor of a helicopter cut off the head of an air chief marshal identified as Umar.

The ugly incedent occurred at Bama in Borno state on Saturday evening when the deceased, who was the co-pilot, had gone to pick his bags and on his way back, he passed through the side of the rotor which was functioning. Immediately his head was cut off.

The aircraft which was reportedly faulty prior to the ugly incident has been taken back to the air base.

Family members of the deceased have been notified while the burial arrangement has begun.
