The quest to entirely take charge of Imo State House of Assembly has taken a new turn.
The Deputy Speaker, Ugonna Uzuigbo was said to have resigned his sit yesterday.
The looming impeachment was targeted against all the main officers of the State Assembly.
Notwithstanding, Ihim has waved off his deputy’s resignation, stating that, it was not carried out in a professional manner.
He further said: “As a Deputy speaker, do you tender your resignation on the internet?
If you deed it fit to resign, the assembly floor of the House is there.
“As at present, nobody has get across to me to state that he has resigned.
I am making it known to you that there are rules and regulation for resignation.”
The whole crisis is caused by what the angry lawmakers termed a ‘unilateral decision’ by Ihim.
He reinstated the council chairmen who were suspended by the assembly for the mismanagement of finances.
