Man Arrested While Using Stolen ATM Card

A suspected armed robbery has been arrested by the Enugu state Police Command while attempting to withdraw money with a stolen ATM card.

According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, the suspect was arrested at a new generation bank ATM point located at the Presidential Road axis of the state.

Investigations later revealed that the suspect with members of his had allegedly invaded their victim’s house in the early hours of March 7, where they stole some of his belongings including his ATM Card and also forced him to disclose his Personal Identification Number to ATM card.

But while the suspect was withdrawing money from an ATM machine, men of the police force got him arrested while acting on intelligence information.

Amaraizu said that the suspect is currently cooling off at the police station as he is helping the police to uncover other gang members. On the other hand, the stolen ATM card has been returned to the rightful owner.
