Award-winning BBC weather forecast presenter Dianne Oxberry has passed on after an unsuccessful battle with cancer.
The 51 year old died at the Christie hospital in Manchester on Thursday morning.
The mother of two is a graduate of meterology who came into limelight what working with Simon Mayo and Steve Wright on Radio 1.
In 1994, she became the North West’s weather presenter and also anchored the Inside Out North West current affairs programme.
After her time at Radio 1, Oxberry returned to Manchester with her husband, cameraman Ian Hindle. They are blessed with two children.
Fellow BBC North West Tonight presenters Roger Johnson and Annabel Tiffin expressed shock over Oxberry’s sudden demise, stating that she will be greatly missed on the programme.
